THE BIG FAT LIE




Why do people tell lies? What is the essence of telling a lie? In fact, what is a lie first of all?
A lie is a distortion or withholding of the truth. It is when a fact is hidden or a refusal to state a fact for most times a selfish reason. According to me; it is selling an idea that is false.
People lie for different reasons. Most times, human nature makes us lie to ourselves because we are not strong enough to handle the truth. Sometimes, our minds tell us lies. Still a lie is a lie because it hides our insecurities.
What is a “BIG FAT LIE?”
A BIG FAT LIE is exactly what it is, A BIG FAT LIE.
What then is the BIG FAT LIE in this situation?
Look at this scenario that tells a very familiar story.
Growing up as a big, bold and beautiful young lady, you were constantly insulted, bullied and criticized for the wonderful way God made you.
Right from childhood, you have been sold the idea that you cannot be who you want to be and do what you want to do because of your size.
Right from childhood, you have been sold the idea that you cannot wear whatever you want and look good in it.
Right from childhood, you have been sold the idea that you cannot find a good man that would love, respect and marry you for who you are and not only for what you look like.
Right from childhood, you have been told the biggest lie of the century; that you are not beautiful and attractive because you are not a size 8-12.
Well, here is the blunt truth.
Forget society’s perception of true beauty and embrace those God-given curves.
Society says you have to have chiseled abs, long slim legs, a long, thin neck, high cheek bones, slim arms .etc to be beautiful.
Well, get ready to love and accept those curves because if you are a big and bold woman who knows what she wants and goes for it not minding what people say, you are beautiful.
If you are big, bold and smart and you are doing well for yourself in your chosen career field, you are beautiful.
If you are big, bold and fabulous, knowing how to combine various styles and colours to put together something that makes you look good, you are beautiful.
If you are a big and bold woman with a healthy self-confidence who would not allow any man trample on her emotions and self-esteem, you are beautiful.
Most of all, if you stand out as a big, bold, strong, amazing and independent woman; you are beautiful.
Therefore, don’t allow individuals and society’s opinions about you change your positive perception about yourself.
Also, the propagators of this BIG FAT LIE should stop it today and spread the truth to make the world a better place.
What is this truth then? The truth is that BIG IS THE NEW BEAUTIFUL.
