BASIC STYLE TIPS FOR THE PLUS SIZE WOMAN

Every woman deserves to look good and fabulous because it improves her confidence and self-esteem as a woman and makes her feel good about herself. The way you look also influences the decisions you make about yourself sometimes.

Also, like the popular saying goes "dress the way you want to be addressed." This saying can never be overrated. In the kind of world we live in today, everything is moving fast. Everyone is fast and sharp. Nobody has the time or patience to get to know who you are on the inside before they judge you. These days people form impressions about you based on what you look like and what they see you do. Therefore, you have to go with the times and try to always look put together all the time.
Plus size women are not an exception. It is even harder for we big women to get clothes in our sizes, stay trendy and look fabulous but it is not impossible.

Times are changing. Beauty standards are evolving. It is no longer strange to see plus size models strutting on fashion runways or appearing in commercials and Adverts. There is even an industry known as the plus size industry dedicated to making sure that the plus size woman never feels left out of the fashion world.

These are some basic style tips for the plus size woman:

1. WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE: You are already a plus size lady. You are a big girl. You don't need to try to look like a skinny girl or wear clothes meant for skinny ladies. Appreciate and accept your curvy body. Take care of it. Clothe it with the right outfits.

2. Dressing starts from the inside. Wear good underwear. Get a good and well-fitting bra that packages your bust properly. Get a shape wear or waist trainer if you have to so your clothes can look fitted on you.

3. Your clothes should skim your body. Try to get clothes that don't cling to your body. High-waist skirts, high-waist trousers, A-line and flared skirts and gowns would do the job.

4. Try to avoid clothes that are too big. We are already big in size. We don't need the "boubous" or over size maxi skirts or gowns. They only make us look bigger.

5. Your skirts should end just before or under your kneecap. It would make your legs look longer.

6. Shorter and more fitted jackets will also help to flatter your legs and waist.

7. Avoid wearing clothes with elastic waist bands. They make your mid-section look bigger even though you may feel comfortable in them.

8. Wear clothes with open necklines like a v-neck or scoop neck. They lengthen the neck. Round neck clothes would not really flatter your neck.

9. Dresses with belts acts as a kind of cincher and would give you a smaller waist.

10. Shoes with chunky, block or wedge heels look better on big ladies than shoes with pencil or thin heels.

11. Try and wear a long top or a short dress when wearing your leggings or jeggings. Short tops would not be a good option for leggings.

12. Always keep your hair neat and your makeup classy. Always put on a nice fragrance and keep your nails neat.
